How to Make Pellets?

Complete wood pellet fuel production process:

① Biomass raw materials → ② Screening → ③ Drying → ④ Cyclone separation → ⑤ pelletizing → ⑥ Cooling → ⑦ Screening → ⑧ → Final biomass pellet fuel
  • Raw Material: Sawdust is the best materials for making biomass pellets. About 500㎡ area is needed for material storage. In order to ensure continuous production, you need to prepare at least fifteen days’ material requirement (about 500~600 tons raw material). The storehouse should be rainproof, windproof, and anti-thunder. Besides, pay attention to the fire separation. Keep the storehouse more than 50 meters away from the production and living area, more than 30 meters away from the highway and power transformer. Set up complete fire prevention facilities to ensure the safety.
    • Screening: By screw conveyor, the raw materials will be delivered to screening machine for sieving. Large pieces of wood, iron nails and other impurities will be screened out.
    • Drying :Biomass pelletizing has strict requirements for materials moisture. After screening, the biomass materials will be sending to roller dryer by screw conveyor and go through hot air drying process.

    • Cyclone Separation :A complete pellet production line is generally equipped with two sets of cyclone separator. One is used for separate dried materials and moisture, the other is used for separated final pellets with moisture.

    • Conveying :The common conveying equipment in pellet plant is screw conveyor, belt conveyor and material elevator. Choose the right conveyer depending on your specific situation.
    • Pelletizing :Pellet mill is the key equipment of pellet line. Ring die pellet mill is the best choice for large scale pellet production. You can build your pellet line with multiple pellet mills to meet your demand of output. A qualified woo pellet making machine is suitable to process sawdust, corn stalk, beanstalk, straw, cotton stalk, peanut shell and many other biomass materials.
    • Cooling :The temperature of fresh pellets can be as high as 80 ~ 90 ℃. The structure of these hot pellets is relatively loose and crumbly. Through counterflow cooling system, the pellets will be cooled to normal temperature. Then they are ready for bagging. Besides cooling device, the cooling system should also be equipped with cyclone separator to separate the powder from pellets and send the powder back for pelletizing.
    • Screening :Through vibrating screen, crushed pellets will be filtered out, so that to ensure the quality of final pellets. The filtered broken pellets can be return to the front procedure for pelletizing again.

    • Biomass Pellets Storehouse :Send the final pellets into finished goods warehouse.

    • Bagging :Use the package machine to bagging the bulk pellets and now they are ready for sale.

    • Silo System :You can also choose bulk storage rather than bagging. Send the pellets from storehouse to pellet storage silo by belt conveyor and elevator. Transport the bulk pellets directly by car or tractor.
